Final Fantasy XVI final previews are dropping, and they're a doozy. Several are calling it one of the best games that they've played this year, with others calling it one of the best Final Fantasy games they've ever played. The title is now officially getting a demo prior to launch, with progress from the demo carrying over to the full game, according to a Sony blog post.
Within the Sony blog post recapping highlights of various previews and discussing their own experience playing the game, most of it is just discussions of the game itself. However, in an aside, Sony says the following:
"We first sample the game’s opening hours, a flashback to a key period in Clive Rosfield’s youth that sets up what’s to come. (It’s this section that players will experience in a public demo which drops ahead of the full game’s launch.)"
We've known for a while that there's a Final Fantasy XVI demo coming, but this is the first reconfirmation of the existence of the demo in a while. It's fairly likely that it launches during the PlayStation Showcase this week, or that we at least get a release date for the demo this week.
