The Maligraphic Mount is one of two new mounts to be added to The Elder Scrolls Online in the upcoming Update 40, arriving on console and PC. According to the PTS Patch Notes by ZeniMax Online Studios, the mount is a reward when exploring the Endless Archive, but before heading here, there are a few things to know when acquiring the mount.
Based on the same PTS Patch Notes mentioned earlier, the mount is part of a new achievement, "Ichor Most Malevolent," added in ESO's Update 40. The achievement's description states that players are to collect and use 50 Maligraphic Ichors, unlocking the achievement and then earning the mount.
It's important to remember that Maligraphic Ichors can be acquired by completing the Dailies inside the Endless Archive. As reported, there's one Daily Quest to finish; players must clear the first Arc: four Cycles (three Stages and a boss battle) and the fifth boss encounter.
After completing an Arc, this concludes the Daily Quest for the Endless Archive, and they'll earn Maligraphic Ichors along with Archival Fortunes and other notable rewards like Item Class Sets and other Collectibles. Additionally, they can also purchase Maligraphic Ichors from the Watchling merchant.
More specifically, they'll need to find Filer Ool within the Index Chamber, where they can buy a Maligraphic Ichor for 15,000 Archival Fortunes. Therefore, we recommend doing the Daily Quest as this helps players farm Archival Fortunes and obtain loot drops after defeating enemies and bosses like Leads and Card Fragments.
Once you've collected 50 Maligraphic Ichors, which could be a type of consumable item, players will use these 50 Ichors to meet the objective for the "Ichor Most Malevolent" achievement. After this, players will unlock the Maligraphic Mount, which can be located under the Mounts category. Look under Equines before scrolling down to find the unlocked mount.
The Elder Scrolls Online is available for the PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pass, Mac, and PC via Epic Games Store and Steam. Players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide as Update 40 releases for Mac and PC on 30th October 2023.
