The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) has just launced its latest expansion, Necrom. The chapter rolled out across PC on June 5, and has just arrived on PlayStation and Xbox consoles as of June 20, 2023. Necrom marks the latest in a long line of expansions for Bethesda and ZeniMax's MMORPG, introducing new areas, enemies and a brand new class — the Arcanist.
But before Necrom came High Isle, a chapter which took us to the center of Breton society across the regions of High Isle and Amenos. The chapter saw the introduction of a brand new storyline focused on the mysterious Ascendant Lord and the ongoing Three Banners War. In addition, players were introduced to the Tales of Tribute card game alongside new companions Ember the Khajiit sorcerer and Isobel Velois the Breton knight.
Previously, the only way to access the High Isle chapter was to purchase the DLC upgrade or the whole collection. With it being a fairly recent expansion to ESO, it wasn't included as part of the premium ESO Plus subscription. But, now that High Isle is old news, and Necrom is front and center, does this mean the previous chapter is now included in ESO Plus?
Elder Scrolls Online High Isle In ESO Plus
Yes, now that Necrom is the newest expansion in Elder Scrolls Online, High Isle has been added as available DLC through the ESO Plus subscription. The chapter launched back in June 2022 and now, roughly a year later, it is available to ESO Plus subscribers at no additional cost.
Aside from in-game benefits such as the Crafting Bag, ESO Plus subscribers gain access to the game's many DLCs with the exception of Necrom. Regular players would need to purchase these additional DLC chapters separately. The latest chapters will usually find their way to the subscription service once a newer chapter has launched.
Of course, all of the pre-order and purchase bonuses included when High Isle launched won't automatically arrive in your collection if you access the chapter via ESO Plus. Some of these bonuses will have been made available to purchase via the Crown Store over time.
So, if you're not ready to dive into Necrom, or are waiting for it to join the ESO Plus subscription, you can instead dive into High Isle and experience the previous chapter's contents.
