ESO High Isle expansion adds LOTR’s Billy Boyd to voice cast

The Elder Scrolls Online's next major expansion, the High Isle, adds a plethora of new content for players to participate in and experience the tranquil life of the Systres archipelago. With its pristine waters and sunny skies, there are dozens of quests and challenges to complete and stories to unravel.

A new content feature included in the High Isle expansion is Tales of Tribute, a tabletop card game, which players can enjoy if they seek a more relaxing gameplay experience. Publisher Bethesda Softworks revealed the card game's main NPC character is to be voiced by a beloved actor who has ventured from The Shire to the High Isle.

Elder Scrolls Online continues to become one of the most impressive MMO titles to date, thanks to the success of their diverse expansions since the Morrowind chapter's release. The next major chapter, set for release on 6th June 2022, the High Isle, will have players exploring majestic and scenic Mediterranean landscapes, the introduction of the Breton race and the collectible card game, Tales of Tribute.

This card game will be introduced to you through an NPC, Brahgas, developer ZeniMax Online Studios and publisher Bethesda Softworks enlisted by Scottish actor Billy Boyd. Elder Scrolls fans may not be familiar with the actor, but avid movie buffs will recognise him as Peregrin "Pippin" Took from The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

In a video posted to Bethesda's YouTube channel, Boyd explained the significance of his character to the Tales of Tribute card game. The video also shows behind-the-scenes footage of Boyd recording lines for his character as we see the character in action.

"Brahgas introduces the player to that new game. And this character, he's a gambler, he's a talker, he likes people! How he attacks this game, this new card game is how he attacks life," Boyd stated.

The actor continued, "I see life as a team game. I think Brahgas does as well! I think he likes to see other people succeed; he likes to see other people being happy. So I think a night in the pub with Brahgas, couple of beers, a little Tales of Tribute would be fantastic!"

The Elder Scrolls Online High Isle expansion is scheduled for release on 6th June 2022 for Google Stadia and PC and Mac via Steam. Its console release is set for release on 21st June 2022.
