Is Elder Scrolls Online Cross Platform?

Over the years, Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) has become one of the most played modern MMOs across all major gameplay platforms. While the award-winning game developer Zenimax Online has continuously added new chapters brimming with story quests and other activities for players to pursue, ESO is surprisingly one of the most accessible MMOs currently available.

As such, it's only natural for new players to drift toward the rich world of ESO. Likewise, like any other multiplayer title, ESO is more fun to play with friends, which is why crossplay has become such an integral part of this ecosystem. But that begs the question: Is ESO cross-platform?

Is There Crossplay Support In Elder Scrolls Online?

Unfortunately, ESO does not feature crossplay, so if you're playing on PC, you can't play with a friend on Xbox and vice versa. Furthermore, ESO doesn't support cross-region play on the same platforms, so if you're playing on Xbox on the European server, you won't be able to play with your friend who's also on Xbox but on the NA server. 

That said, you'll be happy to know that ESO does (at least) support cross-generation play, which means if you're on PS4, you can play with a friend on PS5, granted you're both on the same region server. 

Will Bethesda Add Crossplay To ESO In The future?

While Bethesda hasn't hinted at such a possibility, we hope that crossplay gets added to ESO in the future. However, given how the servers are structured in this massive online experience, we would wager that it would likely never happen. That's everything you need to know about crossplay in ESO.
