With a few short weeks to go before Civilization 7 launches worldwide, the next livestream has officially been announced. There's no surprise that multiplayer will give a big focus, as it's a critical feature to nail for many players. However, the same stream is expected to reveal post-launch plans including future DLC. Those with a deluxe edition already pre ordered could learn what they'll be getting, and players on the fence might hear about an upcoming addition that could solidify Civ 7 as a must-buy.
Civilization 7 Multiplayer & DLC Livestream Confirmed
The release of Civilization 7 is closing in for early February, but Firaxis has announced another live stream before the first month of 2025 comes to a close. The majority of the Civ 7 leaders and civs have already been announced, but a few remain for the launch roster.
The Civ 7 multiplayer and post-launch livestream is set for Thursday, January 30 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 7pm CEST. As noted in the graphic above, the stream can be watched on the Civilization YouTube or on Firaxis Games' Twitch. The latter is recommended for players looking to take advantage of Twitch Drops for this stream.
Multiplayer, whether it be entirely online or including a hotseat feature seen in previous games, is a big question that needs to be answered clearly ahead of launch. The technical details will be key, but the stream will likely also showcase some of the in-game variations for multiplayer and the game settings available.
Perhaps just as exciting is that the stream will feature their "plans for post-launch." As of now, two core DLC collections have already been confirmed. The Crossroads of the World Collection of DLC packs is included in the Deluxe and Founders Edition of Civ 7. This collection brings two new leaders, four new civilizations, four new natural wonders, a special cosmetic bonus, and more. A release schedule and further details on that collection have yet to be announced.
For players who purchase the Founders Edition, it will also include the Right to Rule Collection. That set of DLC will add two new leaders, four new civilizations, four new wonders, a special cosmetic bonus, and more. Details on the pre order for the Founders Edition state that "The Right to Rule Collection contains 6 DLCs, all of which will be available on or by September 2025 (subject to change)."
The mention of "6 DLCs" is likely because individual pieces of these collections will be broken down into separately purchasable packs for players who want just one or two leaders or civs out of the batch. The target date of September 2025 is a key detail, as it will hopefully mean the Civ 7 roster has expanded to at least 30 leaders and 37 different civilizations by that time.
