While they've put together an extensive base game at launch, Civilization 7 DLC is already set to continue adding new content in the weeks after release. The base game and launch DLC packs tied to special editions of Civ 7 are delivering a roster of 26 leaders and 31 civs, but a dozen additions are already confirmed with more likely on the way in later months. The official Civ 7 DLC roadmap confirms when players can expect some of the first DLC collections, two upcoming free content updates, and gives players an idea of what to expect as the year rolls on.

The worldwide launch of Civilization 7 is set for February 11 with players that pre order the Deluxe and Founders Edition given the chance to dive in as early as February 6, but the team at Firaxis and 2K are already making sure fans can look ahead to what's coming next. The latest Civ 7 stream confirmed the above roadmap for 2025 releases, and there's plenty to look forward to.

Together, the Crossroads of the World and Right to Rule collections will add 4 new leaders, 8 new civs, 4 new natural wonders, and 4 new world wonders. The Crossroads of the World Collection is included in the Deluxe Edition of Civ 7, and the Right to Rule Collection is included in the Founders Edition.

Here's all the Civ 7 DLC additions that have been confirmed:

  • Early March: New Leader Ada Lovelace, New Civs Carthage & Great Britain, and 4 New Natural Wonders [Release 1 for Crossroads of the World Collection]
  • Late March: New Leader Simon Bolivar, New Civs Bulgaria & Nepal [Release 2 for Crossroads of the World Collection]
  • April to September: Right to Rule Collection featuring 2 New Leaders, 4 New Civs, and 4 New World Wonders [Likely broken into two releases like Crossroads of the World]

Additional packs are sure to be announced at a later date, but as of now that has been confirmed when it comes to paid DLC. For all players with the base game, there are also two confirmed free content updates:

  • Early March: 1.1.0 Major Update with New Event (Natural Wonder Battle) and New Natural Wonder (Bermuda Triangle)
  • Late March: 1.1.1 Update with New Event (Marvelous Mountains) and New Natural Wonder (Mount Everest)

Additional events, challenges, and other free content updates are planned, but no other specifics have been announced.

While pricing details have not yet been confirmed, it looks like they'll likely offer each collection as a DLC bundle with the separate option of purchasing parts of it as a pack. The items in Release 1 and Release 2 for Crossroads of the World may be dropped into two separate packs, and in that case the collection would likely provide a slight discount to the individual price for buying both.

For players with both the Founders Content Pack and Deluxe Content Pack DLCs, there will be a total of 30 leaders and 39 civs to choose from in Civilization 7 after the Crossroads of the World and Right to Rule collections have both fully released later this year. Considering Civ 6 continued to get new DLC for seven full years after release, this is only the beginning for Civ 7.
