With Civilization 7 now days away from launch, the final reveals are filling out an already extensive roster of leaders and civs. After working through the Antiquity Age and Exploration Age in earlier announcements, the Modern Age has firmly taken center stage in the final road to release. The penultimate addition makes its debut as a full civ in this series, and it'll be built on hate in Civilization 7.

We already know that Mughal India is expected to be the final launch civ reveal for Civilization 7 as it was seen in past livestreams, but the last reveal that hadn't previously been spotted went to Prussia. The announcement aligned with the Civ 7 First Look at Friedrich, who returns to the game after previously leading Germany in a past installment of this series.

Not every leader is necessarily getting an exact copy of their historical civ in the game now that the two have been separated for Civilization 7, but the King of Prussia will have the option of building an empire that becomes Prussia in the Modern Age. Other military focused civs have been revealed, but perhaps none quite reach the level that Prussia does.

In Civ 7, Prussia will get the "Blood and Iron" ability. This will literally make every single combat units stronger for every civilization that hates you. Having an unfriendly or worse relationship with any civ will directly increase the Combat Strength of all units. Waging war tends to piss people off, but that's kind of Prussia's whole schtick in Civ 7.

It's likely possible to use Prussia en route to a different victory type, but they're truly built for a Military Victory. As a general rule, being at war will have negative impacts on any civilization. War weariness bears down on your people to damage happiness and lower their productivity. Capturing or razing cities often increase the grievances that other civs have with you, but that's not a problem for Prussia. In fact, it's their superpower.

Hating Prussia will only make them stronger. Their proclivity for war is woven throughout every aspect of Prussia in Civ 7. Normally declaring war will cause trade routes with your target to be cancelled, but the Zollverein civic allows Prussia to continuing trade with cities you're at war with. That same civic leads to the Mediatization tradition, and that will increase production in all your cities while at war.

The cherry on top of Prussia's haterade shake is the Brandenburg Gate. When a settlement builds Brandenburg Gate, they'll no longer suffer a happiness penalty from War Weariness. On top of that, all conquered settlements will have increased happiness. If players enter the Modern Age in Civ 7 and know they're heading towards total world domination, there may be no more perfect pick than Prussia.
