It’s been over a month since Ubisoft announced that multiple Assassin’s Creed titles would be released in the following years. The games were initially unveiled at Ubisoft Forward 2022, which concluded on 10th September 2022. Those announced titles were Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Last Chapter (DLC), and a couple of Assassin’s Creed Infinity projects.
However, it seems those were only some of the games currently in development at Ubisoft. In recent news, as reported by notable insider Tom Henderson (via Insider Gaming), the French video game company will supposedly also be developing Assassin’s Creed: Project Invictus and Assassin’s Creed: Project Nexus. Although Ubisoft hasn’t officially unveiled the titles online, the company’s earnings report suggests that there are still projects unannounced in the making.
What Is Assassin’s Creed: Project Nexus & Project Invictus?
Ubisoft initially announced several upcoming games at Ubisoft Forward 2022, including a few projects arriving in the coming years. Accordingly, Assassin’s Creed Mirage was one of the first games revealed, launching on various platforms in 2023. However, the French video game company is also working on other titles, which are a part of Assasin's Creed Infinity, including those with the following project codenames: Red, Jade, and Hexe.
But that’s not all. According to the company’s earnings report, specifically on page three, paragraph five, Ubisoft is working on Assassin’s Creed: Project Invictus. In addition, Ubisoft is still developing its VR title, Assassin’s Creed: Project Nexus (initially unveiled in 2020); however, there isn't much more information available at this time.
Ubisoft's report stated, “At its heart, Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be a gateway for all Assassin’s Creed experiences where the metastory will live asynchronously. This project will allow us to link games with a common and more coherent narrative thread that will reward players for their involvement in the universe, driving engagement while at the same time providing more discoverability for the content we create." The company continued, "Additionally, a team, including For Honor veterans, is currently working on bringing back multiplayer to Assassin’s Creed with a standalone experience through Infinity under the project codename Invictus.”
It seems Ubisoft is aiming for a much more connected experience throughout its collection of upcoming games. Assassin’s Creed Infinity might be Ubisoft’s way of bridging storylines between its titles even further, allowing players to “link games with a common and more coherent narrative thread that will reward [them] for their involvement in the [Assassin’s Creed] universe.”
Regarding Assassin’s Creed: Project Invictus, it’s supposedly being developed by a team of For Honor veterans and will be a standalone multiplayer title in the same universe. Assassin’s Creed: Project Invictus will also be a part of the Assassin’s Creed Infinity "gateway" project.

According to Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson, another project was left out at Ubisoft Forward 2022. “One more title was skipped from the event; [Project] Nexus. The announcement of the game could be a part of a future VR showcase, but with sources implying that the game is more complete than any other project announced, it was a little bizarre," Henderson wrote.
Henderson further stated that there was already sourced information about Assassin's Creed: Project Nexus, including some of the missions within the VR game. However, "it is possible that the project could have been canned after it was announced earlier this year [...] and we could be hearing more on Assassin’s Creed Nexus in the very near future."
Currently, Ubisoft has revealed its working on four announced titles, and two unannounced games, excluding Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Last Chapter:
-
Assassin’s Creed Mirage
-
Assassin’s Creed: Project Red
-
Assassin’s Creed: Project Hexe
-
Assassin’s Creed: Project Jade
-
Assassin’s Creed: Project Invictus (unannounced)
-
Assassin’s Creed: Project Nexus (unannounced)
Until Ubisoft reveals more information about the upcoming titles, it's best to take this information with a grain of salt, as anything can happen, be adjusted, or be canceled. Stay tuned for more information, as we'll update this article regarding the development of these Assassin's Creed games.
