Steam Achievements Have Been Added To Assassin's Creed Rogue

Ubisoft rolled back its decision to release games on Valve's PC digital storefront, Steam, after years of critiquing its business model, stating that the digital storefront"doesn't reflect where the world is today in terms of game distribution." This decision didn't age well for Ubisoft in the wake of their financial earnings back in September 2024, as Assassin's Creed Shadows was then delayed to 2025, and Star Wars Outlaws had only been on the market for a few weeks.

The French publisher recommitted to bringing their games to Steam, starting with Outlaws in November 2024 and Assassin's Creed Shadows on 20th March 2025. Additionally, multiple games received much-needed updates and gameplay features and functionalities like Steam Achievements, for which the latter was added to another Assassin's Creed game.

Assassin's Creed Rogue was touted as the gaming series' "darkest chapter" to date as players experience the journey of Shay Patrick Cormac and unravel his transition from a member of the Brotherhood of Assassins to Assassin Hunter. Following this intriguing narrative of an ex-Assassin, now Templar, offering a unique perspective on the prolonged conflict between the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Templars, Ubisoft has finally brought Steam Achievements to Assassin's Creed Rogue.

Rogue joins Mirage and Valhalla, who, in recent months, had Steam Achievements made available for the games for players to complete in-game. Ubisoft noted that these Steam Achievements "will be retroactively earned for those accomplishments already completed in your journey"  through Ubisoft Connect as they explore Shay's dark turn to leave the Assassin Order and join the Templars.

Ubisoft has also added Steam Achievements to a handful of Far Cry games over the past few months, including the game entry in Far Cry 6; however, it's undetermined which other games will have Steam Achievements added. As for Assassin's Creed Shadows, the next entry in this acclaimed action-adventure series will launch on 20th March 2025, with Steam Achievements available upon its release.
