Ubisoft Unveils Several New Assassin's Creed Projects In 2022 Showcase

Ubisoft Forward 2022 concluded on 10th September 2022, showcasing several upcoming games. There's so much to uncover, from Just Dance to Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence and Rainbow Six Mobile. However, perhaps the most notable reveal at this year’s Ubisoft Forward event was Assassin’s Creed.

Celebrating 15 years of Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft has unveiled multiple new games in the franchise. Trust us when we say these upcoming titles look marvelous. Despite the scarcity of gameplay footage, fans have much to look forward to in the coming years as the more intriguing Assassin’s Creed games debut.

Ubisoft Forward showcased upcoming Assassin's Creed games and DLCs.

Let’s dive into all the Assassin’s Creed games announced during the Ubisoft Forward 2022 event.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will bring the series back to its roots. The game takes place twenty years before Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and will feature Basim Ibn Ishaq. Mirage will be one of the most agile and stealthiest games in the series, with the game taking place in Baghdad circa 861 CE.

According to Ubisoft, Mirage will be available on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, and Microsoft Windows PC in 2023. Take a look at the official trailer above.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Last Chapter

As one of the most widely-loved games in the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will receive its “Last Chapter.” After two years, the Norse history and mythological tales told within Valhalla will end as Eivor's story concludes this year.

It’s a bittersweet DLC for fans, but the Last Chapter should bring some satisfaction and fulfillment to Valhalla players. Take a look at the short trailer above.

Assassin’s Creed Codenamed Jade

Assassin's Creed Codenamed Jade will take place in China during 215 CE.

Assassin’s Creed Codenamed Jade is a new mobile game coming to fans soon. It’s safe to assume the game title will change (and any of the other codenamed games in this article) as it continues being developed. The focus for Codenamed Jade is another classic take on the franchise set in China in 215 CE.

Assassin’s Creed Codenamed Red

Assassin's Creed Codenamed Red will take place in Japan.

Although not much has been revealed about Assassin’s Creed Codenamed Red, the game focuses on Japanese culture and will take players on an adventure into a “powerful shinobi fantasy.” More information about the premium flagship title, Codenamed Red, will be released later.

Assassin’s Creed Codenamed Hexe

Not much is known about Assassin's Creed Codenamed Hexe.

Assassin's Creed Codenamed Hexe was probably the only game with the least amount of information given during Ubisoft Forward 2022. But judging by the game’s short preview of the environment and logo, it’s safe to assume Codenamed Hexe will be about witches or darker times in Europe. However, like the titles above, it’s best to wait for Ubisoft to unveil more details before going head over heels for the game.

Assassin’s Creed Documentary and Netflix Series

For those interested in taking a step down into memory lane, Ubisoft has uploaded an Assassin’s Creed documentary about the craftsmanship within the franchise and everything else in between. Take a look below.

Subsequently, an Assassin's Creed Netflix series will be debuting very soon. The series talks about the classic story of Assassin's Creed but is taken to an "epic, genre-bending live-action adaptation."

And that’s all there is to it. Do note that all the “Codenamed” games are more likely to receive name changes as they continue being developed and that their release dates haven’t been announced yet.

Ubisoft states the games are “on the horizon,” implying a possible release within the next few years; these games are also supposedly going to be premium flagship titles.
