Though their Apex Legends roster is relatively fresh, the EU/Ukrainian team have fought their way through the Group Stages at the ALGS Year 4 Split 2 Playoffs, at Mannheim Germany. The team will now battle it out once more in the Winner's Bracket on Saturday, August 31.
NAVI's team consists of ex-Orgless and Hungry pros Matej "MaTaFe" Fekonja and Pedro "KIND4" Maldonado Vega, following the org signing the entire roster. The team is rounded out by UK player Caleb "iHenchman" Nicholls.
In a post, the organisation said of the team's performance: "In the six clashes today, NAVI Apex Legends gave a phenomenal performance and, based on the standings after two game days, already advanced to the playoffs upper bracket. In the 12 matches we have seen, Born to Win took four top 1s and twice finished in the top 3. The ninth map was our most successful, as the team not only won, but also got 16 frags."
Interestingly, MaTaFe and KIND4 will be facing off against their ex-teammates Andre "unlucky" Türk and Tyler "Tyler" Wood, who are playing under the Alliance banner this tournament. Tyler is filling in for Alliance's Miron "Effect" Novikov, who has been unable to attend due to visa issues.
NAVI have quickly become the team to watch this tournament, having defied expectations and comfortably secured their place in the Winner's Bracket.
The ALGS Year 4 Split 2 Playoffs is taking place in Mannheim, Germany at the SAP Arena. You can catch the action as it unfolds throughout the tournament on the official Apex Legends Twitch stream.
