With the arrival of the new Sun Squad Collection Event in Apex Legends, comes a brand new and hot Limited Time Mode (LTM) called Heatwave Mode. This new mode is promising to deliver action-packed fun for all players while challenging them as well.
If you're interested in knowing more about this LTM such as when it begins, how it works, and more, then you're in the right place. Below you can find everything you need to know about the upcoming Heatwave mode in Apex Legends.
Apex Legends Heatwave Mode Release Date
The all-new Heatwave LTM in Apex Legends will be released on the 28th March alongside the Sun Squad Collection Event. The event will likely continue throughout season 16 and come to an end once the season concludes and season 17 rolls around.
However, if the mode does well in terms of player engagement, it could be added to the new Apex Legends Mixtape playlist. This will make the mode replayable indefinitely as part of the playlist, so, for now, we'll have to wait and see how long Heatwave mode will stick around.
Apex Legends Heatwave Mode Explained
Now, let's get into the nitty-gritty surrounding this new LTM. Heatwave mode will see players take part in a standard Battle Royale trios game, but with a twist.
Heatwaves will periodically cover the entire map and players who are caught outside during the heatwave will take damage. The only way to avoid the heatwave is to seek shelter indoors or by deploying a heatshield, though the heatshields can wear down quickly if you place them down outside the Ring.
There are also a few ways that you can cool down if you are caught outside in the heatwave. The first is by sliding around, which limits your heat exposure, but not by too much. The preferred way is to get Sunglasses that are dropped by Care Packages and will drastically decrease the damage you take, so we recommend getting those asap.
And that's pretty much everything you need to know about the new Heatwave LTM in Apex Legends, just be sure to stick to nearby cover/buildings to avoid getting caught out. And if you want to venture out into the open for some high-octane combat, just make sure you have some Sunglasses with you, and get ready for some scorching hot fun in season 16 of Apex Legends.
