For the first time in ALGS history, the program will be heading to Asia, with the Year 4 Championship set to take place in Sapporo, Japan. EA have also revealed that the LAN will take place on January 29 - February 2, 2025 at the Daiwa House PREMIST Dome in Sapporo.
John Nelson, Sr. Director of Esports, EA Entertainment said of the announcement, “The ALGS has a massive community in Japan, and we’ve seen all of the comments asking us to bring the program to the country, which is why we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the marquee event on our competitive calendar at the iconic Daiwa House PREMIST DOME.”

The news was announced at the ALGS Year 4 Split 2 Playoffs, which took place in Mannheim, Germany. The LAN also marked the first time the ALGS had made its way to Germany, being the most-attended EU event.

Though the Split 2 Playoffs have concluded, teams will have another chance to secure their place in Sapporo through the Last Chance Qualifiers. Fans can catch the NA and EMEA LCQs on September 15, via the @PlayApex Twitch channel.
