The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is one of the most heavily-anticipated games of the decade, and it turns out that all that anticipation has paid off in sales.
Figures shared by GamesIndustry.biz's Christopher Dring show that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom sold 54% higher than Hogwarts Legacy. It's also the fourth biggest Zelda game ever in terms of UK revenue, and the eighth biggest Zelda game of all time, outselling Skyward Sword, The Wind Waker, and A Link Between Worlds.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is also a Switch-exclusive title, making this even more impressive a feat. The precursor to this title, Breath of the Wild, also sold incredibly well and was critically lauded, so perhaps this was to be expected, but it doesn't make the feat any less impressive.
