Nintendo To Launch Tears Of The Kingdom Merch To Celebrate First Anniversary

Nintendo recently commemorated the first anniversary of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which became one of the best-selling games for the Nintendo Switch. While the much-anticipated sequel has yet to surpass Breath of the Wild in sales, it was a global success for Nintendo last year, and as such, the Japanese publisher is celebrating the game's first anniversary.

Posted to Nintendo Japan's Twitter account, Nintendo announced that a new line of merchandise for Tears of the Kingdom will be sold in Japan. Some items include the Official Game Soundtrack, the game artwork book, and a replica Master Sword, which will be available later this year.

The Official Game Soundtrack, which comes in two editions, the standard and Limited Edition, will launch on 31st July 2024 by Nippon Columbia. The Limited Edition includes a Master Sword USB featuring "15 high-resolution sound sources and 5.1-channel sound sources" for a deep immersion experience "between the sky and the earth."

The Master Sword USB will also have a "dedicated pedestal" for when it is not used. Alongside the USB, the Limited Edition contains nine discs featuring 344 tracks, all beautifully packaged inside a luxury box, whereas the standard edition includes 344 tracks on nine discs.

An artwork book will also be available, which contains three chapters focusing on "art, materials, and story" and some behind-the-scenes production imagery. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Master Works will include concept art, "newly drawn artwork," and more featured across 464 A4-sized pages, which go on sale on 30th Augst 2024.

Lastly, the replica Master Sword from Bandai Spirits, which will be available in September 2024, is "a three-dimensional figure" and is said to be 105 cm/41 inches in size. It will also include unique sound effects related to this iconic blade, vibration tricks, and eight BGM songs from The Legend of Zelda series, with a sheath and pedestal added for display.

Tears of the Kingdom was released for Nintendo Switch on 12th May 2023 and has gone on to become one of the best-selling games for the console. Receiving critical acclaim for its exceptional story and gameplay mechanics, it earned several accolades, including Best Action/Adventure Game at The Game Awards 2023 and Adventure Game of the Year at this year's D.I.C.E. Awards.
