Fresh clothing options were already well expected from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, with Breath of the Wild’s Dark Tunic and many other equipment sets making a return also. Originally acquired via Kilton at the Fang and Bone monster shop in the prequel, the Dark Tunic makes its re-debut in Tears of the Kingdom through engagement with the game’s underground segments. There’s certainly some legwork involved, but a fresh and Shadow Link-inspired look could be worth your while.
In this guide, we’ll explain how to get your hands on the Dark Tunic and whether it’s worth your time and energy spent in Hyrule’s underground.

How to Get the Dark Tunic
To gain access to the Dark Tunic, you’ll need to first speak to the Poe Bargaining Statue located in Robbie’s workshop in Lookout Landing. Interact with the statue with a Poe soul in hand and you’ll be able to enter an exchange shop where you’ll see the Dark Tunic available for 150 Poe souls.
How to Find Poe Souls
Poes are solely available beneath the surface of Hyrule, down in The Depths. You’ll need to enter the underground via one of the chasms, or if you’ve already been there and found a Lightroot - simply teleport there using the Purah Pad.
Gathering Poe Souls is simple but dangerous: You’ll need to wander the underground, lighting your way with Brightblossom Seeds and arrows and picking up the blue-flamed Poes with the A button. The main danger is, of course, the near-encompassing Gloom and Gloom-affected monsters lurking in The Depths. You might want to consider grabbing some Gloom-resistant equipment for your trips down below.
Is the Dark Tunic Worth it?
Once you’ve got the 150 Poe souls gathered and the Dark Tunic equipped, you’ll notice it’s pretty much cosmetic without the cap. We’ve yet to locate the accompanying Dark Cap to confirm, but it’s likely to provide a full set bonus when equipped together, just like it did in Breath of the Wild. We’ll update this article with the result as soon as we find out.
