Planning to return to the world...of Warcraft? Then we've got some exciting news to share for World of Warcraft (WoW) players making their way back into Azeroth after a bit of a break. Blizzard has released the WoW Welcome Back Gift feature so players can return to Azeroth without issue.
In this article, we explain the requirements to take advantage of the Welcome Back gift in WoW and what you can expect when using this feature, so let's call that Zepplin and fly in...
Welcome Back Gift in World of Warcraft Explained
With the release of the Fractures in Time update in mid-July 2023, Blizzard decided it would be a great time to get more players back in the swing of things and test out their mega-dungeon Dawn of the Infinite!
Basically, the Welcome Back Gift in WoW allows you to come back, get new gear, wipe your quest log, and choose a path you wish to continue with your character. Details as per an explanation by Blizzard below:
- Players can then select if they wish to wipe their quest log or keep their existing quests. Characters currently on the Shadowlands or Battle for Azeroth campaigns won't have the option to wipe their quest logs.
- Players can then choose the specialization for their character and receive gear appropriate for that specialization and character level.
- Talents will be reset to the Starter Build for a fresh start.
- Once the gear update has been accepted, the character will log in to the game and can be teleported directly to Chromie’s location.
- Similar to a boosted character, characters will not lose any of the gear currently on their character or in their bags and will receive their previously worn gear in the mail.
Sounds great, right? Let's take a look at the requirements for using WoW's Welcome Back Gift feature.
WoW Welcome Back Gift Requirements
The requirements to use this feature are quite simple. You must not have logged on for 60 days and have an active WoW subscription. When you log in, you will see a notification for the "Gear Update" on your character's login screen. It is available for characters level 10 to 60.
