Shadows of Doom Guide - WoW Wrath of the Lich King Classic

As you play through the Wrath of the Lich King Classic pre-patch of World of Warcraft, you might find yourself stumped as to where to find the Shadows of Doom quest enemies. You are required to spawn and defeat these creatures as part of the Shadows of Doom quest, but getting them to spawn can be slightly challenging.

Shadows of Doom Guide - WoW Wrath of the Lich King Classic

Shadows of Doom is a quest given by Commander Thomas Helleran in Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands. You will then be tasked with eliminating a Shadow of Doom, which can spawn near a Necropolis. 

Necropoli will spawn in various locations across the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor during the Scourge invasion. These can appear in the following zones throughout the world:

• Azshara

• Blasted Lands

• Burning Steppes

• Eastern Plaguelands

• Tanaris

• Winterspring

You should notice at least one Necrotic Shard nearby as well as hordes of the undead in and around these locations. Look for an upright crystal in the center of a pink summoning circle. As soon as you locate one, begin eliminating the nearby zombies, which will both damage the nearby shard and possibly drop Necrotic Runes.

When the shard's health is completely gone, four NPCs will appear to begin fixing it. Run over to one of the newly spawned NPCs, and you will get a prompt to use eight Necrotic Runes on the one you're interacting with. 

Once you've interacted with one, you can kill the Shadow of Doom that spawns in its place to finish the quest's objective and finally make your way back to Thomas Helleran at Light's Hope Chapel to complete the quest and continue your quest.

Just keep in mind that Shadow of Doom can be quite a tough opponent to defeat on your own regardless of your class; therefore, it is helpful to team up for this particular quest. Just be sure to keep in mind that if you're part of a raid group, the quest won't finish, and you'll need to end your alliance before you can continue.
