In two weeks, it will be ten years since the release of the last Prince of Persia game - The Forgotten Sands has been released on 18 May 2010.
It might be a coincidence, but Ubisoft has just registered a Prince of Persia 6 web domain, on 4 May 2020. Why would they do that now?
The exciting thing to notice is when they've revealed Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, they registered the web domain for it just hours before that, in order to avoid any spoilers and leaks. Does that mean that we will see the new Prince of Persia revealed soon? Possibly on next Inside Xbox presentation on Thursday 7th May?
This is, of course, all just a speculation at the moment, maybe they just want to secure the domain for the time being.
Next Prince of Persia game would be indeed the 6th "main" PoP since Ubisoft acquired the franchise. Previous games in the series where Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, Prince of Persia (2008), and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.
There were rumours before about the new Prince of Persia in the works, but still nothing concrete from Ubisoft, and this is the first "real" evidence that something is at least being considered. We sure would like to see a new Prince of Persia, and the next-gen platforms are a perfect place for the fresh start of the beloved franchise.
