In today's out-of-the-blue announcement, Nintendo revealed the latest Paper Mario game.
It's the sixth game in the popular Paper Mario series, called Paper Mario: The Origami King, and it's coming incredibly soon too - namely 17th July on Nintendo Switch.
"The kingdom has been ravaged by an origami menace," says the official The Origami King description. "Join Mario and his new partner, Olivia, as they team up with unlikely allies like Bowser and the Toads to battle evil Folded Soldiers."

For now, we know that Mario has a new ability, the 1,000-Fold Arms, which you can use to extend your arms to interact with the environment and solve puzzles. The most efficient way of using this ability in the battle is to move around until you align your enemies for one good domino-kick.
There's also a new ring-based battle system, a kind of arena where you fight against multiple enemies and where this new ability should really come handy.
In the trailer, which you can watch below, we see bits of the story, and various open locations we will explore in the game, as well as our origami enemies, including a colossal origami Bowser.
A few months ago, Super Mario 35th anniversary rumour mentioned that a new Paper Mario game is coming this year, which turns out to be true, so we can perhaps expect more stuff from that report to become a reality.
