Yup, it's Thursday, it's time for another news article about free games on Epic Store. This time, Epic is giving us Just Cause 4 and Wheels of Aurelia.
Just Cause 4 is just a year and a half old, so it is kinda surprising to see that they are giving it away for free already. The game was released back in December 2019, and it had mixed reception. People loved it for its open-world gameplay, diverse locations, great controls, and pleasing visuals, but writing and story were disappointing, and mission design was lazy and uninspiring.
We play again as Rico Rodriguez, and this time we can transverse in the game's world using his wingsuit and grappling hook, which is really fun to do! All in all, if you don't mind some shortcomings, you can have a lot of fun! And hey - it's free!
Second free game is of a smaller scale. It's called Wheels of Aurelia, a narrative road trip game set in the Italian 70s. It tells the story of Lella, a restless woman driving on the roads of the western coast of Italy, the famous “Via Aurelia”.
Focus in this game is on replayability, since every playthrough last just around ~15 minutes, with sixteen different endings to discover. It sounds very similar in concept to legendary The Stanley Parable, which was also free on Epic a couple of weeks ago.
Both of these games will be free on Epic Store for a full week, and after that, and next Thursday free game will be For The King.
