Gamers are finally getting a chance to try Back 4 Blood, the next co-op horror experience coming from renowned developer, Turtle Rock Studios.
Back 4 Blood features both a 4-player co-op campaign and a PvP mode, but it is the co-op mode that has got people most excited.
That is because this game comes from the developer's of the Left 4 Dead series, a game that still has a rabid fanbase to this day, a fanbase that is desperate to have new content in a similar vein.
Many are wondering though if a new game means new features, and there are calls for Back 4 Blood to have a split-screen mode. But does it?
Does Back 4 Blood have a split-screen mode?
Unless you are at a LAN party, playing Back 4 Blood with your friends in the same room means the game needs split-screen support.
The split-screen feature was once a common feature in many video games, but over the last decade online play has become the predominant way of playing multiplayer games, and so developers started removing LAN and split-screen options.
Still, some co-op games are starting to bring back the split-screen feature, and Back 4 Blood is one such game that would be a perfect fit for split-screen.
If you were hoping to play Back 4 Blood on split-screen, the situation -- at least just now -- is not exactly great, but not bad either.
Developers have explained that the game will not support split-screen co-op at launch, but the feature may become available at a later date.
"We would love to support split-screen but right now it is, unfortunately, something that will not be available at launch," developers stated in one of their Q&A sessions.
Still, this doesn't mean that this is not something they are working on. Turtle Rock Studios revealed that fans are constantly asking them about this feature and that they "hear" them and that fans should "stay tuned".
While this doesn't confirm that the feature will be added to the game, it certainly means that they are at least considering it and exploring possibilities and ways how they can implement split-screen into the game.
