Following the departure of Matthew “WeDid” Suchan from the starting roster back in May, the biggest question for XSET going into Stage 3 of Valorant Champions Tour was who the team would sign as their fifth. That wait is now over, the team took to Twitter to unveil the signing of former Dignitas player Rory “dephh” Jackson.
Welcome XSET @dephhgg as the newest member of the Valorant team. ⚔️

Through his versatility, and ability to lead the team in game, we believe he will bring XSET Valorant to new heights. 📈#RepTheSet❌ pic.twitter.com/FpF5NZRwLF
After a disappointing performance in the VCT Stage 2: Challengers Finals, it seems XSET believes that with dephh as their in-game leader, the team can return to VCT Stage 2: Challengers 1 form, where they got 2nd place; losing only to 100 Thieves.
From an outsider's perspective, it looks as though this transition from WeDid to dephh will be easier said than done. Dephh’s most comfortable roles don’t exactly line up with the ones he aims to fill, not to mention that prior to this signing, the team already had an IGL in the form of Brendan “BcJ” Jensen.
XSET are now:
- Rory “dephh” Jackson
- Bryce “PureR” Lovell
- Jordan “AYRIN” He
- Brendan “BcJ” Jensen
- Zander “thwifo” Kim
- Matthew “WeDid” Suchan (Inactive)
- Don “SyykoNT” Muir (Coach)
