After a couple of teaser trailers for Valorant agents, like the ones for Sova and Sage, Riot is finally ready to give players an opportunity to try their new game for the first time - 5v5 character-based tactical shooter Valorant.
League of Legends creators today officially announced details for the upcoming Valorant closed beta. It will start April 7, and go-live times are 2 p.m. CET/6 a.m. PST. There's no mention of the end date, so we assume that the closed beta will be "open" as long as it's needed, but Riot cited that they want to keep it "as short as we can," since the plan is to release the game in early summer.
"We're ready for the first wave of players to test VALORANT's competitive gameplay and take our first step toward building a global community," the announcement says.
How can you try to get access? Well, you should follow these rules provided by Riot:
- Register for a Riot account
- Link your Riot account to a Twitch account (you can get one here)
- When closed beta activates in your region (EU and NA for now), watch specific VALORANT closed beta streams highlighted on Twitch.
The closed beta will be available for this regions: Canada, United States, Russia, Turkey, or Europe.
It is worth mentioning that beta progress will not carry to the final release, and all VALORANT Points you purchase during the beta will be returned to you upon launch, along with 20% bonus as a sign of gratitude for the early supporters of the game.
Closed beta begins April 7 with EU and NA. More regions to come as we deploy server infrastructure. Learn how to get in line: https://t.co/Q13KQImW03 pic.twitter.com/hp2hT3EXyR
