VALORANT's diverse cast of Agents has expanded once more, with the addition of new Controller Clove. Hailing from Edinburgh, Clove is a celebration of the authentically Scottish, bringing with them a fearless set of skills that'll no doubt make a mark in matches.
As part of Clove's release, Riot Games commissioned a special mural from Edinburgh artist Elph which is being displayed in Quality Yard, a outdoor exhibition space in Leith's Old Town.
The mural will be visible from April 3 to April 30, 2024, where fans are invited to visit and share photos of themselves at the installation to @VALORANTukn on X or @VALORANTukie on Instagram. Shared photos will be in with a chance of winning a special Clove gift bundle.
Edinburgh University's VALORANT esports team were given early access to Clove to test our their abilities, as well as view the new mural in all its glory. Alex Fung, President of the Eclipse Esports Society at the University of Edinburgh, said “A number of players on our VALORANT teams are non-binary or LGBTQIA+, so it feels extra special to see ourselves represented on multiple levels in the game that we love.”
Clove is voiced by Isla Campbell, a Scottish national who has given life to the game's new playful Agent. “Voicing Clove and working with Riot has just been the best experience," Campbell said. "Getting to be unapologetically and authentically Scottish, not a stereotype, not overplayed, is so important and such a privilege that people like my friends who play VALORANT will hear Clove’s voice and go, “hold on that’s actually how I speak.”"
Clove arrived in VALORANT with the 8.05 Patch, which launched on March 26, 2024.
