In the latest end-of-the-year dev dairy, Riot has shared a recap of how 2022 looked for Valorant and what their goals are for 2023. They talked about various aspects of the game, including Art, Characters, Maps, Premium Content, Competitive Scene, and much more.
Among these, while discussing about Data Ops, they announced that the new Smurf Detection system is live across all regions, and they have already recorded a decrease in the number of unfair matches that happen because of Smurfs.
They further revealed that in 2023, they will be rolling out the second version of the Valorant Smurf Detection system with various improvements to make the automated detection faster and more accurate. This will help them improve the matchmaking system to ensure fair and competitive matches, and they will continue to make it even better in the future.
In addition to this, they have also announced that while we will definitely be seeing new Agents, maps, and premium content in 2023, they have a few unannounced "visual surprises" in their mind as well.
Apart from this, we will also get more information about the Premier tournament mode later in 2023, along with a chance to play in it. To thank the entire Valorant community, Riot said, "It really is you who continues to inspire us in coming up with amazing stuff, so expect us to keep building out the VALORANT universe in 2023 with new Agents, maps, and other cool stuff."
