Deadlock is the newest Sentinel added to Valorant, whose abilities are focused on slowing down and trapping enemies. You can unlock her by completing her Agent Recruitment event, spending VP, or taking an Xbox Game Pass subscription. After that, if you want to pick Deadlock in a match, it's essential to know some of the basic tips and tricks about using her abilities so that you can get the best out of her. We have explained them below for all of her abilities.
Valorant: Deadlock Tips and Tricks
Tips To Use GravNet (C)
GravNet can trap enemies by slowing them down, and you can use it to clear corners by rushing them after they get caught in it. However, if you are unsure about the enemy's position, take the help of an initiator so that you don't waste your utility.
You can also use it to stop the push or post plant situations by combining it with a molly or grenade, as by the time the enemy removes the net, the molly will give heavy damage to them or might even kill them. You just need to be quick with it.
Tips To Use Sonic Sensor (Q)
Sonic Sensor will monitor a particular area and will slow down and stun the enemy if they make any noise in that area, whether it's their footsteps, firing sound, or anything else. Now, you can use it to hold the flank; however, if the enemy is walking without making any noise, the ability will not help you at all.
Thus, it is better to use it to stop the push to the site instead, and once the enemies are concussed, you can use that opportunity to take early kills. Sonic Sensor can also be used for post plant situations by deploying it next to the spike.
Tips To Use Barrier Mesh (E)
Barrier Mesh can block multiple angles for you and is great for rushing the sites as it can help you isolate the enemies and prevent them from rushing you while you are planting the spike. On the other hand, if you are on the defending side, you can stop their push using it.
Apart from this, it will cost the opponents a lot of bullets if they want to break the Barrier Mesh, which can be an advantage for you as the Reserve Ammo for Phantom and Vandal has been decreased. However, keep in mind that bullets can go through the barrier.
Tips To Use Annihilation (X)
Annihilation will create a pulse of nanowires that will capture the first enemy coming into its contact. It will trap the enemy in a cacoon and pull the enemy towards you, and if they reach the end unless their teammate frees them by destroying the cacoon, they will die. You can bounce it from either a wall or a roof, and is extremely helpful in post plant situations.
However, the ultimate can be easily dodged by the opponent by moving, and thus, we would suggest you to pair it with Sonic Sensor or GravNet, which will slow down the enemy preventing them from escaping. It is best to use this ultimate by isolating a player if you are in a 1v1 situation, as there will be no one to break the cocoon, and the enemy will surely die if they get caught.
