After months of waiting, the developers of Valheim (Iron Gate) have finally released the highly anticipated "Hearth & Home" update. This release marks the first out of 4 planned major updates for the hit Viking game.
The present update comes with a slew of new content and features, including a major food rebalance, as well as several new types of food being added to the game. It also comes with new Darkwood building pieces, a tonne of new furniture and several other additions for your home.
Moreover, there are also new weapons and items, new gameplay mechanics, as well as new sinister creatures waiting out in the world, ready to jump on you when you least expect it. But we are not here because of that, we want to talk about one new item - the Thunder Stone!
Where to find Thunder Stone in Valheim?
The Thunder Stone is one of the newest items added to the Valheim Hearth & Home update. It is one of the most essential items you will want to get since you won't be able to craft the most popular new object - the Obliterator - without it.
Given that the Thunder Stone is such a precious item, it's reasonable to think that you will need to do a lot of work in order to obtain it. Weirdly enough, this couldn't be further from the truth.
So, what do you need to do in order to obtain the Thunder Stone? Well, it's rather simple. All you need to do is find the good old Merchant.
As you know already, Haldor the Trader doesn't reside in any permanent location in the world of Valheim. This means that Haldor will be located in a different location in each world, where you will have to venture to find him.
Predictably, you can find Haldor somewhere in the Black Forest and once you are near Haldor (i.e. within a 2 km radius of his location), a small sack symbol will appear on your map. From there, all you need to do is to navigate toward that direction, until you find Haldor.
Once you have found Haldor, simply purchase a Thunder Stone from him for 50 coins and that's it! Now you can use it to craft an Obliterator or one of the several other items that require a Thunder Stone.
