But fret not, because we're here to compile the ten best anime shows releasing in October and why you shouldn't miss out on any of them!

Best Anime Of October 2022

What makes October 2022 such a crazy year for anime is that so many long-awaited sequels and manga adaptations are finally receiving their animated debut. In particular, the ten anime listed below have been hyped for so long now that it's hard to believe they're even airing!

From slice-of-life romantic comedies to action-packed Shonen thrill rides, there is an anime for everyone this season. Let's check it out.

10. Berserk: The Golden Age Arc Memorial Edition

Since the tragic passing of Kentaro Miura, Berserk fans have had to come to terms with the fact that the show will never be the same again. But, instead of being sad about what could have been, it is never too late to relive the absolute brilliance of the Berserk storyline over again.

The Golden Age Arc Memorial Edition celebrates Miura's work, allowing newcomers and old-school fans to come together and relive this truly amazing storyline. So if you have doubts about whether or not to check out Berserk, let this new series prove your doubts wrong.

9. Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of a Dark Dusk

After the success of the Sword Art Online Progressive feature film, this sequel is set to make waves in the anime community. Notably, Sword Art Online has long received pushback from viewers. While those who praise the first season (more specifically, the first ten episodes or so), the show went into a steep decline from the second series onwards.

Sword Art Online Progressive takes things back to basics, returning to the first VR game and exploring more of the world of Aincrad and Kirito and Asuna's relationship. In this regard, the show delivers what everyone has been asking for. The result is a much more realized and detail-oriented experience that anyone can enjoy watching.

8. Urusei Yatsura

Urusei Yatsura

Originally released in 1981, Urusei Yatsura was a smash hit in the world of old-school anime. Now, more than forty years later, the show is back with a fresh coat of paint and here to remind everyone why it was so popular in the first place.

The story tells the tale of a young alien who comes to Earth only to find herself in the company of a young man who she believes to be her husband. As you can imagine, things only get more chaotic from there on out, and plenty of laughs and awkward misunderstandings are still to come.

It's always important to look back on older works and see how the medium has progressed over the years (and how it has also stayed the same). Urusei Yatsura is shaping up to be a thoroughly enjoyable blast from the past.

7. Arknights

If it wasn't enough that Genshin Impact would be getting an anime adaptation; now Arknights is also going to be receiving a fully animated series. The popular tower defense gacha game took the world by storm during its initial release. The title is still going strong to this day, and this anime is evidence enough that any signs of fatigue are unfounded.

Arknights is one of the most popular anime-style gacha games on the market. Not only is the gameplay engaging and addictive, but the story is also incredibly well-written. Anyone interested in learning more about the anime before it drops can pick up the game today and start playing!

6. Mob Psycho 100 III

Mob Psycho 100 III

Mob Psycho astounded anime fans when it was first released, thanks in part to its clever writing, quirky humor, and, above all else, beautiful animation. The show focuses on Mob, a young boy with psychic powers that stand unrivaled in the world of the supernatural.

Mob tries his best to keep his powers under wraps while exterminating evil spirits that seek to torment those around him. Now well into its lifespan, Mob Psycho continues to push the boundaries of what makes a good anime with each new season. Hopefully, Season 3 will be no exception.

5. Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! Double

Uzaki is one of the most popular manga characters that managed to grab a coveted anime adaptation. Long-running volumes like Uzaki, Nagatoro, Takagi, and Komi have all been greenlit for multiple animated seasons, and fans couldn't be happier.

The first season of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out acted as a teaser. It had the difficult job of not only setting up its premise and mainstay cast members but also progressing the overarching story. Now that we're back with season 2, we'll hopefully see more romance between Uzaki and Sakurai. Only time will tell what lies in store for these lovebirds.

4. Spy x Family Part 2

Spy Family became a massive hit when it was first released as fans from across the globe fell in love with the mismatched family of Lloyd, Yor, and Anya. Yor and Lloyd are perfect foils for each other, and Anya's chaotic energy makes every scene featuring her absolutely hilarious.

This upcoming series is the second half of the story, delving deeper into the lives of the main trio. Yor and Lloyd will likely depend on their relationship even further, while Anya will continue trying to keep her psychic abilities under wraps. When it comes to hilarious relationships mixed with exciting and tense action scenes, you can't get much better than Spy Family.

3. Chainsaw Man

Chainsaw Man

When it comes to new anime, as opposed to sequels, Chainsaw Man is probably the most anticipated show of them all. Without diving too deep into spoilers, Chainsaw Man is a story about a young boy working alongside a chainsaw demon in the hopes of eradicating his deadbeat father's debt.

The show is mature and tackles many themes, including depression, lust, anger, and jealousy. The animation quality of this show is superb, and it is clear that no expense was spared concerning the show's budget. The show isn't for everyone, and those with more tender sensibilities might want to give it a miss. However, if you can stomach a bit of debauchery now and again, give it a shot.

2. My Hero Academia 6

My Hero Academia has taken the world by storm, ushering in a new age of Shonen anime that could rival originators of the genre like Dragon Ball, Naruto, and One Piece. Now on its sixth season, it's easy to see just how much staying power this series has as a whole.

In a world where superheroes and supervillains are engaged in a constant battle of good versus evil, it is up to new and upcoming heroes to continue fighting for what's right. The newest arc will kickstart the fight between the heroes and the League of Villains.

My Hero Academia revitalized the Shonen genre alongside other great shows like Hunter x Hunter 2011. We have it to thank for keeping such action-packed thrill rides on our screens. It is sure to have some exciting moments for all to see.

1. Bleach - Thousand Year Blood War

Bleach Thousand Year Blood War
Bleach is back a decade later, and we couldn't be more excited (Picture: Aniplex)

After Bleach got canceled in 2012, many die-hard fans were disappointed that the show would never receive a true conclusion. Now, more than a decade later, Bleach is receiving an animated adaptation of its final manga arc.

Several trailers have already been dropped showcasing the updated visuals. But, we have to say, the difference in quality between where the show ended and where it is now is positively uncanny. Most original voice actors are returning to reprise their roles, and fans couldn't be happier.

As one of the original "big three" anime alongside Naruto and One Piece, Bleach is finally getting the bombastic climax it deserves. So if you only have time to watch one anime, make sure it's Bleach to witness a historical point in anime history.

And that's our top 10 list of upcoming anime in October 2022.
