Players have been waiting for the release of the next-generation version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt since 2021, but according to a recent update by developers CD Projekt Red, it seems they won't be getting it any time soon.
According to an update posted on the official The Witcher Twitter account, the next-generation update for Witcher 3 has been delayed "until further notice."
Many fans are frustrated with the delays and have lingering questions about the update's release. Here's everything fans need to know about why the next-generation The Witcher 3 delay happened.
The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt next-gen delayed indefinitely
According to the CD Projekt Red, the delayed release of the next-generation edition of The Witcher 3 will occur thanks to a change in the team working on the project.
Developer Saber Interactive was in charge of the project, but starting 13th April, CD Projekt Red will complete the rest of the project in-house, utilizing their own team members.

CD Projekt Red did not announce why they made the change.
