Not long after rebooting development, The Witcher spin-off, Project Sirius, studio Molasses Flood has been hit with layoffs.
Just last week, CD Projekt Red announced that Project Sirius was back on track after development was rebooted due to unspecified reasons, but a day later several staff members tweeted out that they had been laid off from the studio behind the title. Judging from tweets put out by developers as Molasses Flood, less than ten people were laid off, but the studio itself is extremely small, with employees numbering the low double digits according to their LinkedIn page.
Project Sirius is described as an 'Innovative take on The Witcher universe', and is being developed by the studio behind Flame in the Flood. What we do know is that the game is a multiplayer take on this world, but beyond that, we know very little.
CD Projekt Red has several other projects announced, with The Witcher 4, a Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel, and an expansion to the original Cyberpunk 2077, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty.
