SNK has a lot of momentum right now, with next year’s Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves looking like another good fighter from the legendary company. Although most of the attention is on Fatal Fury, fans wonder what’s next for SNK’s flagship series: The King of Fighters.

The company is working on more DLC for King of Fighters 15, bringing Mature and Vice back to the fold. However, there are bigger plans afoot, as the company has announced it will be the series’ 30th anniversary in a few days.

King of Fighters’ 30th anniversary will take place soon and SNK has been hyping this celebration on Twitter. It’s not yet known what the company’s plans are, though it’s easy to assume that King of Fighters 16 is on the way. We could also see another classic KOF re-release, with the 13th game coming to Switch and PS4 in late 2023.

Only time will tell if anything noteworthy comes from this celebration, but history shows that SNK will re-release something to take advantage of this. The company’s illustrious history speaks for itself, so an anthology collecting SNK’s KOF series would be appreciated.

In the meantime, King of Fighters 15 is readily available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be coming out on April 24, 2025, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. Fatal Fury also has some representation in Street Fighter 6, with Terry Bogard coming soon as DLC, and Mai Shiranui coming next year.
