Final Fantasy 16's Clive Rosfield Joins The Tekken 8 Roster As Next Playable Guest Character

Tekken 7 players are having some serious flashbacks as Bandai Namco announced that another hero from the Final Fantasy series is joining the Tekken 8 roster. The announcement was made during The Game Awards 2024 as the developer unveiled Final Fantasy 16's Clive Rosfield, who'll be readying up to incinerate his opponents in his next battle.

Accompanied by an equally fiery new gameplay trailer showcasing Clive's fighting prowess, it also confirmed that a new Battle Stage will be added to Tekken 8. Its release date and other noted details were announced in the gameplay trailer and on the official Tekken social media channels, where a few more Final Fantasy-themed items will be available to players.

It's not the first time we've seen a Final Fantasy character crossing worlds with Tekken as Final Fantasy 15's Lucian Prince Noctis joined the Tekken 7 roster in 2018, which added the Hammerhead gas station as a DLC Battle Stage. Tekken 8 will welcome Clive Rosfield as the second Final Fantasy character as a guest DLC character for the Tekken series; which players with access to the Character Year 1 Pass gain Early Access starting on 16th December 2024 for 72 hours before its official release on 19th December 2024.

Alongside the addition of Clive Rosfield, the Phoenix Gate, a pivotal location that alters Clive's destiny in Final Fantasy 16, will be the next DLC Battle Stage, which has been "brought to life through Eikons and stunning special effects, mirrors key moments of his journey to confront his past." Bandai Namco announced on the Tekken social media channels that the Final Fantasy 16 Joshua Rosfield Collaboration Pack has been made available now via the Tekken Shop, which players can acquire three new items, the Bomb King (Red) Tekken Ball and the Undying Red and Nectar the Bold Character Customization options.

The latest character reveal for Tekken 8 comes on the night the fighting game was awarded The Game Award for "Best Fighting Game," which bested Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics and MultiVersus. The Tekken 8 Character Year 1 Pass is available to buy for consoles and PCs, and players can anticipate gaining Early Access to Clive Rosfield ahead of his fiery debut in Tekken 8.
