It seems that one recent leak regarding free games on Epic Store during the Epic Mega Sale was true.
That leak suggested that the next free game will be Civilization VI, and this is now confirmed by Epic Games.
Civilization VI will be free on Epic Store from today until next Thursday, so make sure to add it to your Epic Games account.

This is another AAA title in a row coming from Take-Two Interactive to be free on Epic Store after they previously gave away GTA V.
Civilization VI was released in October 2016 for PC and later ported to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
During the reveal period, it was criticized for its "cartoonish" look but that was quickly dismissed in favour of generally positive reception of its gameplay mechanics and a myriad of features it offers.
Developer Firaxis Games explained that one of the key things they were focused on when they were designing the game was to avoid having the player follow a pre-set path of improvements towards their civilisation which they had observed from earlier games.

Since the release, numerous new civilisations and scenarios were added in the form of a DLC. Besides small DLCs, two major expansions were also added. The first one is Civilization VI: Rise and Fall, released in February 2018, and the second one is Civilization VI: Gathering Storm, released in February 2019.
Recently, they introduced a season pass, called The New Frontier Pass, which includes six DLC packs on a bimonthly basis from May 2020 to March 2021. The first one is already out, and it includes two new civilisations: Gran Colombia and Maya.
