Star Wars Obi Wan Kenobi – Episode list, runtimes, and more

Star Wars Obi Wan Kenobi has arrived on Disney+ as dedicated fans anticipate the return of the beloved Jedi Master and the incomparable Sith Lord, Darth Vader. With a possible rematch between these characters set to occur in the limited series, we'll also get to see the version of the character that closely resembles the one we first saw in Episode IV - A New Hope.

Nevertheless, those looking forward to watching the series available on Disney+ may wonder when new episodes premiere on the streaming service. So, get your blue milk ready; we've detailed when Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres, its episode list, runtimes, and more.

Obi Wan Kenobi Runtime – Release date and schedule

Lucasfilm's latest limited series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, will finally premiere on the streaming service, Disney+ on 27th May 2022, two days later than its original release. While the reason behind the unexpected delay is unknown, it may be likely due to the Star Wars Celebration event starting the next day, 26th May 2022, possibly to have the cast available in attendance.

Obi Wan Kenobi will stream the first two episodes in a two-hour premiere special, with episodes available every Wednesday afterward. It's worth mentioning that Marvel Studios' next series, Ms Marvel, will also be premiering on Wednesdays starting 8th June 2022 on the platform until Kenobi concludes on 22nd June 2022.

How many episodes does Obi Wan Kenobi have?

According to a blog post from the Star Wars official website, the limited series will feature the events of former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi after Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, in six compelling episodes. Taking place on the planet Tatooine and a brand new location as Kenobi looks to protect a young Luke Skywalker.

This limited series will only have six episodes available, meaning our time with the Jedi Master is brief. Regardless, according to its director Deborah Chow in an interview with GamesRadar, this series will present something different from what we've seen in other Star Wars projects.

"I think I was the most excited about getting the opportunity to do a character-driven story, in a similar way – it's a different tone – but something like 'Joker' or 'Logan,' where you take one character out of a big franchise and then you really have the time, and you go a lot deeper with the character."

How long are the episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi?

While details surrounding the Obi Wan episode lenghts have yet to be confirmed as of writing. Based on previous Star Wars live-action series, including The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, it's safe to assume that each episode is around 45-55 minutes long, but this is subject to change.

In contrast, according to RadioTimes, the running times of the episodes vary; however, a few may breach the one-hour runtime mark. Regardless, we'll have to wait on official confirmation from Lucasfilm on the running times for each episode in this limited series.

Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on 27th May 2022, with episodes releasing every Wednesday at 12 am PT / 3 am ET.
