Avid Star Wars fans will finally learn more about the upcoming action-adventure game Star Wars Outlaws, with a new trailer arriving this week. Lucasfilm Games announced the news late last week, months following the game's official trailer in June 2023.
According to the official Star Wars Twitter account, Lucasfilm Games announced that a Story Trailer will drop on 9th April 2024. The trailer will premiere on multiple platforms at 9 am / 12 pm EST / 4 pm UTC, with more details to follow after the trailer's premiere.
The game is a collaboration between Lucasfilm Games and developer Massive Entertainment which follows a scoundrel, Kay Vess, and her companion, Nix, and they travel to the Outer Rim to "pull off one of the greatest heists." Regarding the upcoming Story trailer, details on what players can expect remain unclear, but as it's a Star Wars project, we may see a few hidden references and Easter Eggs planted throughout it.
Nevertheless, given that Star Wars Outlaws is confirmed to be set in the period between The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi during the height of the Empire's ascendency. As Outlaws does not have a release date as of writing, it's possible that the Story trailer or the upcoming Ubisoft Forward presentation on 10th June 2024 may provide more details on a confirmed release date, which, according to its announcement post, is slated for release in 2024.
Likewise, they may also drop some news on Star Wars Day, 4th May 2024, which may be a day we could get more information on other Star Wars games, including the action-adventure game from Amy Hennig's Skydance New Media. For now, Star Wars Outlaws will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with details to be confirmed leading up to the game's launch.
