Developer Respawn Entertainment and its publisher Electronic Arts (EA) announced that the critically acclaimed action-adventure game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is heading to last-gen consoles this year. The announcement was made in an official post on EA's news site, in which they revealed some additional information, including pre-order details and the official release date.
A few optimizations have been made for its forthcoming release, and an update for its PC version will be available shortly. According to the aforementioned post, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles on 17th September 2024, and pre-orders are now available for these platforms.
The second entry into EA's Star Wars Jedi series, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, was first released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in April 2023, mainly garnering positive reviews. Its PC port suffered a myriad of technical issues at launch and post-launch, mostly performance issues, which were finally addressed in Patch 7 for the action-adventure game as its console ports were far better.
With PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports arriving this September, Respawn has announced that its last-gen port will include "a variety of optimizations aimed at maximizing the hardware capabilities of the consoles." As we anticipate its release for these platforms next month, many players hope it won't suffer similar issues its PC port had faced; however, a new patch will be coming soon to PC, but details on what will be addressed are unknown.
Pre-orders for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have gone live following the announcement, which includes a few pre-order bonuses. Players will gain free cosmetics at release, including the Hermit Cosmetic pack (featuring items inspired by the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series), the Hermit Lightsaber, and Combustion Blaster Sets.
