Silent Hill 2 Mods Bring Back Maria's Original Outfit

Bloober Team maintained a lot of elements from the original Silent Hill 2 in their 2024 Silent Hill 2 remake, but one thing they switched up is characters' outfits. From removing the patches from James' iconic jacket, to giving Eddie long sleeves, and giving Maria entirely new attire, quite a few things have been tweaked for modern audiences.

One of the most controversial and major changes are the edits to Maria's look - while many love her new outfit, others much prefer her 2001 design and its Christina Aguilera inspirations. This has led modders to create an Original Maria Outfit mod, allowing players to play the remake with Maria sporting her original outfit.

Fans can also use mods to revert James' jacket back to the original - patches and all - or even edit his PS2 model directly into the 2024 remake, which is available both on PlayStation 5 and PC.

In addition to the player-created outfit mods, modders have also removed the game's fog, offering a much closer and high-definition look at the town and its details. Various Silent Hill 2 remake mods are available on Nexus Mods, with fans creating more every day.
