Information on the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake has overall been pretty scarce, aside from Bloober Team and Konami's recent 14-minute gameplay trailer. Though it only shows a bit of what the game has to offer, that trailer actually has a lot of cool stuff packed in it for fans. Not only does it reintroduce us to protagonist James Sunderland and the eerie fog town of Silent Hill, but it also contains some interesting Easter eggs to enhance the experience.
Fans have noticed some license plates on cars in the trailer that both spell out different Bible verses. The verses fans have found so far are:
- Ephesians 4:32 - "Be kind and compassionate to one another, just as in Christ God forgave you."
- Matthew 11:28 - "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
These license plates could just be some eerie Easter eggs alluding to some of James' story's motifs, but they could also potentially be part of a new puzzle or other interactive gameplay element. Either way, it's pretty cool to see these unique details being added to enrich the game's environments in the remake, making Silent Hill become that much more alive to fans. While we've only seen two of these license plates hidden in the game's trailer, it's very possible that more could be scattered throughout the in-game world of Silent Hill.
Fans won't have to wait much longer to experience the game and all of the hidden secrets it has to offer. Bloober Team and Konami's highly-anticipated - and highly-debated - Silent Hill 2 remake is set to release on PS5 and PC on 8 October.
