Capcom's 2023 Resident Evil 4 remake has now sold over 8 million copies, making it one of the best-selling Resident Evil games of all time. To celebrate this massive milestone, Capcom released a new RE4 illustration, which you can check out just below:
The graphic pictures Resident Evil 4's most iconic characters, including Hunnigan, Ashley, Leon, and Ada, as they grab a bite to eat and chat. Seems like a nice, much-deserved break from fighting zombies! In the background, text reads: "Thank you - 8 million units!"
8 million units is a lot, but it's still a bit short of Capcom's best-selling Resident Evil games. As of June 2024, the best-selling RE game is the 2019 Resident Evil 2 remake, selling a whopping 14.2 million copies. It's closely followed by Resident Evil 7: Biohazard with a little under 14 million copies, according to Statista. Resident Evil 4 currently comes in seventh place - just below the Resident Evil 3 remake - but is steadily climbing.
As the popular Resident Evil 4 remake earns its place toward the top of Capcom's best-seller charts, it'll likely draw in new players - and thankfully, there's no better time for them to get their hands on the game. In fact, it's available for cheaper than ever through some limited-time sales at certain retailers. Through an Amazon sale, players can grab the remake for just $21.99 - almost half off its list price of $39.99. Or, you can get RE4 digitally from the PlayStation store for just $19.99.
Resident Evil 4 is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Thanks to a late December 2023 release, fans can also play the game on Mac, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPad. RE4 was a 2023 Game of the Year nominee and finalist.
