The PS2 version of Resident Evil 4 launched with two campaigns. The first was Leon and Ashley's adventure, and the second was the Separate Ways campaign of Ada Wong.
Ever since Capcom announced a remake of Resident Evil 4, fans have been wondering whether Ada's Separate Ways campaign is part of this new modern-day remake. Having played through the entirety of Leon's story in the remake, we now have the answer to this question.
Warning: Story Spoilers for Resident Evil 4
Unfortunately, Ada Wong's Separate Ways bonus campaign isn't part of the Resident Evil 4 remake. After the credits roll in Leon's campaign, you're only given the option to start the new game plus mode for the existing campaign alongside the new Professional mode difficulty that provides extra challenge.
And that's pretty much it. While this may be disappointing to people looking forward to playing as Ada Wong again, the RE 4 remake is a meaty experience in its own right, with plenty of new areas and enemies to keep you busy.
Also, it's always possible for Capcom to add the Separate Ways campaign via a DLC later on. Interestingly, there has been a rumor swirling around that Capcom is indeed playing to release Separate Ways as a paid DLC. This info comes from notable Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem, who took to ResetEra to state the following - "Yup, Separate Ways is down the line DLC. It'll be longer and more fleshed out than the original Separate Ways."
Golem has been a reliable insider when it comes to Resident Evil news, so there could be some credence to this info. That said since nothing has been confirmed or hinted at by Capcom, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt.
We will update this article when more information is available.
