Once you’ve beaten the main story, Pokémon League and acquired the National Dex in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you can hunt for Legendaries in the brand new Ramanas Park. This location was made especially for the Sinnoh remakes and it has the potential to spawn in dozens of Legendary Pokémon.
However, in order to make the Legendaries spawn, players need to acquire Discovery Plates.
These plates can be placed in the rooms of different Legendaries to make them appear. Players can buy Discovery Plates at the Ramanas Park entrance but they’ll need Mysterious Shards to do so.
Players can find out how to acquire Mysterious Shards in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl below.
Getting Mysterious Shards in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Currently, the only way to go about acquiring Mysterious Shards is to mine for them in the Grand Underground. It doesn’t matter where you mine them, so you can be outside of Ramanas Park or in Eterna City.
You can find the places to mine by looking at your map in the Grand Underground and finding the small golden blips across the walls. Press A on the wall where the golden blip is and you’ll get the option to mine it.
Once you’re presented with the mining screen, you want to be on the lookout for light pink and shiny shards with a yellow circle in the middle of them. Mysterious Shards can be found both in S (small) and L (large) sizes. The smaller ones only take up four spaces on the mining screen while the larger ones take up double that.
If you manage to find three Mysterious Shards S, then you can trade those for one Discovery Plate. If you find one Mysterious Shard L, you can also trade that for a Discovery Plate. The larger ones are harder to find but both varieties are rare when mining.
There’s no current way to maximize the speed at which you can acquire Mysterious Shards. You simply have to hope you get lucky and don’t collapse the wall before finding a shard when mining in the Grand Underground.
