Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is about to get a major update next week that will shake up how players interact with the game. The app will introduce a long-awaited trade feature starting on 29 January, allowing players to swap their cards with friends (though, unfortunately, the rumors are true - some rarities are entirely excluded from the feature). The following day, on January 30, a brand-new expansion titled Space-Time Smackdown will launch, adding a slew of new content for players to explore.
Thanks to this brand-new update, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket players will be able to trade cards directly. The system will rely on two new in-game items - trade hourglasses and trade tokens - to facilitate exchanges between cards with specific rarities. Initially, trades will be limited to cards from earlier expansions like Genetic Apex and Mythical Island, but more cards will be available as updates roll out over time.
The trading update is accompanied by the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, launching on January 30. It marks the second major expansion for the game and the first since Mythical Island, which introduced powerful cards like Celebi EX that completely changed the game's meta. This new expansion will introduce a fresh batch of Pokémon from the Sinnoh region, including the Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia. Players can also expect to find new illustrations of popular Pokémon like Lucario and the Sinnoh starters: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup.
With these updates, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is offering players exciting new ways to engage with the game, from trading to collecting fresh content. Whether you're looking to expand your card collection or dive into new challenges, there's plenty to look forward to in the days ahead, and likely even more to come in the future.
