All Shadow & Shiny Pokémon For Team GO Rocket Takeover
Giovanni’s greed for power and Pokémon will be displayed as Team Go Rocket takes over Pokémon GO in their new event. Team GO Rocket Takeover, from 1st February 2023 at 12 am local time to 5th February 2023 at 11:59 pm local time, sees several Team GO Rocket Grunts and their leaders, Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra, causing chaos in-game.
They’ll be utilizing various Shadow Pokémon throughout the event, and we prepared the best counters to use against them. Additionally, Team GO Rocket has inflicted several Pokémon, turning them into Shadow Pokémon, which you’ll need to help rescue and purify them.
As there’ll be plenty of Shadow Pokémon spawning near Pokéstops, there are also opportunities for Shiny Pokémon featured during the event. As there may be a chance you could encounter Shiny Pokémon as rewards for completing the Field and Special Research tasks, some can be hatched from 12 km Eggs which can be received after defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders.
Below, we’ve listed all the Shadow and Shiny Pokémon that are appearing during the Team GO Rocket Takeover event:
All Shadow Pokémon:
- Shadow Alolan Vulpix
- Shadow Blitzle
- Shadow Joltix
- Shadow Spoink
- Shadow Registeel

To acquire a 12km Egg, you need to defeat the Team GO Rocket Leaders, Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo, who’ll likely drop an Egg as a reward and also leave behind a Shadow Pokémon in defeat. You can catch and purify them using Stardust and Candy to cleanse them from the Shadow effects and improve the Pokémon’s potential when a Team Leader appraises it.
