Pokemon GO is bringing back Necrozma's highly-coveted Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane Fusions on Saturday, 14 December, from 2-5 PM local time. These two versions of the Pokemon were first featured earlier this year at GO Fest 2024, and few expected them to return so soon - but it's definitely a welcome event, especially for those trainers who weren't able to get their hands on them before.
Necrozma Raid Day 2024
During the event, both Fusions will appear more frequently in Raids, and players will have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Necrozma from Raids. To allow players to dive into the event, the Remote Raid limit will temporarily increase to 20, and trainers can get five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs during the event.
After the Raid, players also have a chance to catch unfused Necrozma, with the possibility of a Shiny. Necrozma is overall a strong catch; it's a Psychic type with a max CP of a whopping 4163 CP.
Fusing Dusk Mane & Dawn Wings Necrozma
Fusing the unfused Necrozma with Solgaelo will earn you the Dusk Mane or Dawn Wings fusion, depending on whether you use Solar Fusion or Lunar Fusion energy. Trainers get Solar Fusion Energy or Lunar Fusion Energy by successfully beating Dusk Mane Necrozma or Dawn Wings Necrozma in Raid Battles.
Sunsteel Strike Move
Necrozma fused with Solgaleo into Dusk Mane Necrozma will know the Charged Attack Sunsteel Strike. Sunsteel Strike’s Adventure Effect costs 3,000 Stardust and three Necrozma Candy, and it lasts 10 minutes. Then, it has a pretty unique and awesome effect: Pokémon that typically appear during daytime will be attracted to your location, similar to the effect of Incense.
You can use this as often as you like, provided you're willing to spend the Stardust and Candy - and you can also extend the effect. The timer can be extended up to two hours each time you tap Use, and you can tap Use again to add additional time, giving you up to 24 hours of an Incense effect! This can be a pretty massive boost.
Necrozma Event Ticket Bonuses
Players can also grab a Necrozma event ticket for the following bonuses:
- Eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a total of fourteen)
- Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles
- 50% more XP from Raid Battles
- 2× Stardust from Raid Battles
The return of Necrozma's Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane variants is like an early Christmas gift for players, allowing trainers to get their hands on these highly-coveted and very rare Pokemon for just a few hours. Be sure to add the Necrozma fusion event to your calendar if you've been hoping to add Necrozma to your Pokedex!
