Gigantamax Pokémon Are Coming To Pokémon GO

Gigantamax Pokémon are coming to Pokémon GO starting on 26 October, Niantic and The Pokémon Company announced. The Gigantamax mechanic expands upon the recently-added Dynamax feature, which substantially changes the look - and size - of Pokémon during battle. However, Gigantamax Pokémon will appear only during limited-time events and will be quite difficult to defeat.

The roster will include Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise to start with. Because of their difficulty, it's recommended that Trainers team up with a minimum of 9 friends for Gigantamax battles. In addition to those three Gigantamax additions, Gigantamax Toxtricity will make its Pokémon GO debut in Max Battles during Pokémon GO Wild Area: Fukuoka. Pokémon GO Wild Areas are in-person events with special rewards and opportunities for Trainers.
