With the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn on its way, trainers all around the world have something extra special to look forward to, as the ultra-rare Wish Pokémon, Jirachi, will be making an appearance. Not only that, but its Shiny form will also be available to catch during the tour event, and if you want to know how to catch one, then keep reading.
In this guide, we'll explain exactly how you can get a Shiny Jirachi during this limited-time event and how to get a guaranteed chance of getting one. So without further delay, let's jump right in.
How To Find Shiny Jirachi In Pokémon GO
To get a Shiny Jirachi, players will need to take part in the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn edition event and complete the Masterwork Research: Wish Granted quest that forms a part of it. This event will be held physically at first, then globally for all players online.
The physical event will be taking place in Las Vegas from the 18th of February to the 19th of February. And for those who can't make it to Las Vegas, the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn - Global event will be held on the 25th of February from 10 am local time until the 26th of February at 6 pm local time.
During both of these events, there will be a quest called the Masterwork Research: Wish Granted that players will need to complete to get a Shiny Jirachi to spawn. The only difference is that players partaking in the Pokémon GO Tour: Hoenn - Global event will need to pay $4.99 to access the event, whereas those in Las Vegas will be able to access it earlier and without payment.
#MythicalWishes can come true! Trainers across the world can encounter Shiny Jirachi in a ticketed Masterwork Research story via #PokemonGOTour: Hoenn – Global. ✨

While many players are excited to get their hands on this Shiny Jirachi, regardless of whether they have to pay a small fee or not, others are having a more negative reaction towards this. Many are claiming that the idea of being able to pay a fee to guarantee a rare Pokémon spawn defeats the idea of the Pokémon being rare and tough to catch in the first place.
While their point is valid, the choice is ultimately yours, and for the first time, catching the rare Jirachi has never been easier. So, all in all, if you have the funds to take part in this event, we say go for it, as having a rare Pokémon in your party can never be a bad thing.
After catching a Shiny Jirachi, there will also be a few other rare Shiny Pokémon to collect as you play through the global event, as well as awesome raids to take part in that also feature Shiny Pokémon. And last but not least, there will also be a decent selection of Shiny Pokémon roaming around for those who don't want to pay anything at all and just want to log on during the event.
Tickets for the physical event in Las Vegas are currently on sale, and tickets for the Global event will be available starting Monday, the 20th of February.
