As Blitzle will be spawning more frequently in the wild during the Spotlight Hour, it's only natural that Trainers might wonder if they can encounter its Shiny form. This guide will detail if it’s possible to find a Shiny Blitzle in Pokémon GO.

Will There Be A Shiny Blitzle In Pokémon GO?

January’s final Spotlight Hour event will take place soon as the Electric-type Pokémon, Blitzle is galloping its way to Pokémon GO. Trainers looking to add this Pokémon to their Pokédex will be lucky to know that a Shiny Blitzle will spawn during this limited-time event.

The Blitzle Spotlight Hour will begin on 31st January 2023, and for one hour, Blitzle and Shiny Blitzle will appear more frequently in wild encounters. Accordingly, Trainers can look forward to spotting and encountering this Pokémon between 6 pm and 7 pm local time.

Aside from the arrival of Blitzle and Shiny Blitzle, an event bonus will be available for the event’s duration as you can earn double Candy when transferring Pokémon. Additionally, the other Spotlight Hour bonuses will be active for the hour as you can gain the following bonuses:

• Double XP when evolving Pokémon
• Double Catch Stardust
• Double XP when catching Pokémon
• Double Catch Candy

To bolster your chances of encountering Shiny Blitzle in Pokémon GO, you can activate Incense which can also be Daily Adventure Incense; the latter will attract Pokémon for 15 minutes while walking or moving. Likewise, you can also use a Lure Module, which, based on Blitzle’s typing, is a Magnetic Lure Module to attract specific Pokémon types, namely Electric, Rock, and Steel.

With the Incense or Lure Module activated, ensure you have enough Poké Balls in your Bag, which you’ll need to catch Blitzle. Speaking of catching the Pokémon, you can give Blitzle a variety of Berries, namely Razz Berries, to further increase your chances of catching it.

Likewise, Nanab Berries can be given to the Pokémon to decrease its movement as you attempt to catch it, and Pinap Berries will double the Candy you can receive after catching it. Lastly, you can use various Throws to successfully catch Bliztle, which you can gain an XP bonus and boost your chances of catching it.
