Palians welcome back the Maji Market, which arrived with the v0.176 patch update on 30th January 2024. This event rerun puts a unique spin to coincide with the Luna New Year, which ushers in the Year of the Dragon, who's feeling rather generous by awarding Lucky Envelopes.
This new event-exclusive currency replaces last year's Chapaa Chase Tickets, which can be earned in various ways and spent similarly. Looking to claim various rewards at the Maji Market can learn in this guide where they can get and use the Lucky Envelopes in Palia.
How To Get Lucky Envelopes At The Maji Market In Palia?
The Lucky Envelopes is an event-exclusive currency for the Maji Market: Luna New Year event. It replaces the Chapaa Chase Tickets from the first Maji Market, which players can earn in various ways during the event, including event activities and quests, available between 6 pm and 3 am Palian time.
Once-off activities will grant players Lucky Envelopes, including the three new quests: New Year, New Wishes, Wishes in the Wind, and A New Year to Remember. So far, the first two quests will award them with 500 Lucky Envelopes each, as we have yet to confirm if the final quest will reward them with 500 Lucky Envelopes, too.
Another once-off activity that will grant them Lucky Envelopes is finding the Luna New Year Treasure Chests that can award them varying amounts of Lucky Envelopes per chest looted. Lastly, completing the five Big Spender Accomplishments on their Stamp Card will also award 100 Lucky Envelopes each time they finish this Accomplishment series once-off.
For repeatable activities that award Lucky Envelopes, the Wish Tree is one of the few ways players can earn them in-game. Achieving this once per real-world day, they'll receive a blank Wish Ribbon from Chayne in their Mailbox, which they can dye one of three colors: Blue for Luck, Orange for Prosperity, and Pink for Longevity.
Each color represents an in-game currency available in Palia, with Pink representing Renown, Orange for Gold, and Blue for Lucky Envelopes, which dying the Wish Ribbon Blue will allow them to retrieve a Wish Gift Box with Lucky Envelopes inside once opened. Spinning the Prize Wheel at Zeki's Lucky Catch stall also grants players the chance to be awarded Lucky Envelopes, although it's unclear if the value is static or randomized.
The Hotpot Card Game is a brand new activity players can participate in during the Maji Market event. Players can earn Lucky Envelopes depending on whether they create three sets of three tiles: Three-of-a-Kind (same category and ingredients) or Category Set (same category but different ingredients).
Lastly, the Chapaa Chase will also award players with Lucky Envelopes, not Chapaa Chase Tickets like the previous event. The Chapaa Chase event can be repeated at 12 am Palian time when the Maji Market is open in-game, where players earn points based on the number of Chapaas caught individually and collectively as a group.
These points will be converted into Lucky Envelopes with a Group Bonus Score given to everyone participating in the Chapaa Chase. This Group Bonus Score will also be converted into Lucky Envelopes as everyone's a winner in the Chapaa Chase event.
How To Use Lucky Envelopes At The Maji Market In Palia?
The Lucky Envelopes are the event-exclusive currency, meaning they can be exchanged at various stalls at the market. These stalls include the Chapaa Hut, Delaila's Sweet Treats, Maji Market Fireworks, Reth's Street Specialties, and Zeki's Lucky Catch, which offers a great variety of unique items, including food dishes, recipes, themed Furniture pieces, fireworks, wallpapers, and more.
Players have from 30th January 2024 to 27th February 2024 to visit the Maji Market at Kilima Village Fairgrounds and complete the quests. Additionally, they have the same period to participate in the event's activities to earn Lucky Envelopes and exchange them for rewards.
Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
